Pictures
See below a few pictures.
Note : when posted, pictures were recent. They are not binding as, over time, decoration may change. We try to keep them updated.
Since those pictures were made, a flat screen TV has been acquired, the washing machine has been replaced by a new one, the oven has been replaced by a combined microwave.
Very good, central location, trendy area
In one of the trendiest areas in Paris : many creators around (fashion designers, etc..), the most experienced French movie director lives just one block away, etc...), between rue de Bretagne's markets (Enfants Rouges) and food shops, and rue de Poitou and its art galleries, minutes away, by foot, from Picasso Museum, the wonderful Place des Vosges, and the colorful Centre Georges Pompidou.
Close to rue de Turenne and bus line 96, which goes to many nice places in Paris (Place des Vosges, St Paul area, City Hall, Notre-Dame, Quartier Latin, Montparnasse, also now trendy and popular Oberkampf and Menilmontant areas)
Next metro stops are Filles du Calvaire, Temple and Republique, all located north of the flat. However the very central Hotel de Ville metro station is also not very far by foot, going down rue des Archives.
Going by foot, down rue de Turenne to Place des Vosges, or rue Vieille du Temple or rue des Archives to the Seine river, usually takes no more than 15 to 20 minutes
The apartment
Cosy one bedroom flat with a south facing terrace, antique Chinese furniture and other refined decoration.
DSL High speed access to Internet + associated telecommunication services ( Freebox Revolution services : free phone calls to landlines of over 100 countries, free phone calls to cell phones in the USA, Canada and France, access to over 200 TV channels + Blue Ray DVD reader, ).
The lessor is not responsible if, from time top time, the telecommunications services need some maintenance; he pays for a service that is usually provided without any problem.
The bedroom has a comfortable double bed with fine linen and pillows. A large cupboard with big mirrors on the sliding doors, and another open cupboard, can probably accommodate all the contents of your luggage.
The living room has a sofa-bed, a table that can be unfolded into a dining table for up to 8, antique Chinese furniture, a very large painting of two water lilies, a handwoven carpet, and other decor items. Numerous guides of Paris and other books are gathered on the shelves.
The low mezzanine is rather a sleeping area for one or two guests
From the terrace one can see the upper part of the Eiffel Tower, glittering at night with hundreds of flashlights. A large square umbrella can protect 4 persons seated around he dark green table in the sunny season.
A jasmine, a clematis and a honeysuckle will keep you happy if you like plants, and bring a natural touch of greenery.
The bathroom includes a bathtub with a shower, a toilet and a wash basin with a large mirror. The walls and the floor are covered with elegant beige marble. A hair dryer is available. Bath towels are supplied.
The kitchen offers a refrigerator, a washer-dryer, an oven, 4 electrical burners, a kettle, etc… and a fairly complete set of kitchenware and tableware. Towels are supplied.
This is clearly a very good quality apartment, no pet and no smoking are allowed in the apartment.
AvailabilityIn 2011, starting April 26th, to be confirmed
Availability is to be reconfirmed for each reservation as this paragraph is not
necessarily updated immediately after a new reservation.
Rates2011 / 2012 LONG TERM RATES
It may be possible sometimes to rent the apartment for more than 9 months, in which case a special rate could be negotiated.
For at least 6 months the monthly rate (including rent, utilities, high speed access to Internet and related flat rate services of a Freebox Revolution) would be 2,100 euros.
Additional costs would include : electricity, telecommunications beyond the limits of the flat rate service, renter's insurance premium, time share of taxe d'habitation, brokerage fee, cleaning at least 1 times per month (3 hours each time at 11 € per hour).
Rates may be subject to change without prior notice.
2010 / 2011 SHORT TERM all-in rates
All-in rates cover :
- the rent (for peaceful/quiet/clean use of the apartment and of the terrace - no pet, no smoking),
- the rental fee,
- the final cleaning fee,
- utilities, electricity up to 1.5 euro per night,
and :
- DSL high speed access to Internet, including with a Wifi connection,
- access to a large number of TV channels.
- use of the telephone with a prepaid card without any communication charging the owner's telephone account - if that would happen the cost would be deducted from the refundable safety deposit
Linen and towels are provided and belong to the flat, cleaning products (soap, washing tablets or powder, dish-washing liquid, etc..) and some other basic consumables (oil, salt, sugar, etc..) are provided in limited quantities for renter's convenience. Upon renter's departure similar quantities should be ready for use by the next renter, at departing renter's expense.
Whether Internet, telephone or TV services, the all-in rate includes telecommunications included in the flat rate service - see http://www.free.fr. Beyond the limits of the flat rate service, telecommunications (including pay-per-view movies, or call to cell phone lines out of the USA, Canada and France) are additional costs not included in the all-in rate.
The apartment can sleep up to 6 persons but frankly the ideal number of renters is 1 or 2,
because it is not a large place, and the sofa-bed of the living room is only for occasional use.
1 or 2 persons can sleep on the low mezzanine on 4 mattresses, for a short stay.
